PREREQUISITES: To obtain a real estate salespersons license in New York you are required to be at least 18 years of age, have a high school education or equivalent, successfully complete 77 hours of instruction at a school approved by the New York State Department of State, pass a state examination, furnish evidence of good moral character and be sponsored for licensing by a New York Real Estate Broker. A salesperson candidate must be a legal resident of the United States, but does not have to be a citizen.
